To be present

To be listened to and understood is not something you can take for granted in modern everyday life. When we vocalize our thoughts and feelings – telling them to someone listening closely – something happens to us. We become conscious of ourselves: our mind and emotions become concrete and tangible. Maybe you’re lucky enough to be close and comfortable enough with another person to be able to share everything?

To be listened to and understood is not something you can take for granted in modern everyday life. And although close relationships are vital for us humans, there is no guarantee that we feel understood when we most need it. Nor do we always want to share our innermost thoughts and feelings with those we are closest to; perhaps they are only concerned about offering what they think is a good solution, or can not accommodate your feelings, have no patience to let you speak out – or may lack the ability to be 100% committed.
